“I enjoyed all the Elevate workshops, it was an engaging journey with a multidimensional approach on the organisers end. All the guest speakers were very interesting. I learned some new information that will help me in archiving my goals. All the workshops were very motivational and positive. I loved the idea of a nearly 3 month commitment, it’s similar to establishing a positive routine!”
“I believe overall the Elevate programme was very helpful and beneficial for skills I will need later on in life. The skills I have gained have improved from when I first started the programme until now. I am very pleased to have been a part of this experience.”
“Elevate enhanced my work skills, especially how to be punctual. I enjoyed the interview skills components the most.”
“This was a very helpful experience. Certain classes stood out for me, especially the interview preparation and networking events which were held at City Hall.”
“My experience with this program has been very beneficial. The different guest speakers that came all taught me good skills I’ll be able to use, especially when it comes to finding a job. This programme has also shown me that I have the ability to go after what I want in my life.”

A couple of candid shots from our mental health and arts event, Crazy!
We hope you have enjoyed some of the previous content that we have uploaded in relation to this event. Lastly, we wanted to show some candid shots from the night and take the opportunity to say a massive thank you to the performers and wonderful audience and Allie's Art Club & The Lucky Club for collaborating with us.
Highlighting mental health issues is important to us at You Press because we understand how prevalent they are in society. We acknowledge that creating safe spaces to discuss mental health challenges can be incredibly impactful in reminding people that they are not alone. We are elated that through hosting crazy we was able to create that safe space and facilitate healthy and insightful discussions into mental health. Additionally, we were also able to bring light to how creativity and the arts can be a great means to managing mental health issues!
We look forward to hosting more events in the future centred around mental health and mental wellness.

After a three year pause due to the pandemic, this April we had the pleasure of bringing back our annual community dinner at Queen Victoria Seaman’s Rest (QVSR).
We are so pleased that we were able to create warm and joyful space for community members to come together and feast, whilst watching some amazing poetry performances.
Many were positively impacted by the dinner and expressed their utmost gratitude, some attendees were so passionate that they even helped us clean up!
Thank you to Queen Victoria Seaman’s Rest, all the attendees, performers & every person who helped make this event so special!
Check out this video to see more of what we got up to!
