Fly Between The Lines
Giving young people the chance to express themselves creatively through storytelling and poetry
Our Creative Writing Programme aims to discuss social issues that effect young people around the neighbouring wards of North Westminster through the aid of storytelling and poetry. The programme gives young people aged 16-25 the chance to express themselves creatively through storytelling and poetry.
We hope to inspire the cohort to continue their artistic expression and promote social cohesion. This will involve writing conscious pieces covering all their concerns and identifying the problems that may be present in their communities.
What does the programme involve?
The sessions involve teaching literaryΒ and poetic technique to use in their own pieces. Each session ends with creative piecesΒ produced and at the end of the programme the young people have the chance to see their work published in a collective anthology.Β We aim to not only promote social inclusiveness but give our young people the confidence to communicate to a wider audience.
How long is the programme?
The first programme took place over 3 sessions, starting with an introductory session in mid June. The training sessions will took place at You Press on every other Saturday from 11am to 5pm. The programme is completelyΒ free!
